“The Living Treasures of France” exhibition will open at the Tokyo National Museum to display artworks by 15 artists who are passing down French traditional craftsmanship to the next generation.
In relation to this exhibition, Junji Ito, Project Professor at the Tokyo University of the Arts’ (TUA) COI Site will act as the producer to organize a symposium, performance and workshop inviting famous artists from the two countries, with TUA students who are expected to lead the next generation of craftsmanship. It will look at Japanese and French craftsmanship “monodukuri” from a new perspective.
