“Clone Cultural Property” on TV

The Research on culture sharing group at the Tokyo University of the Arts’ (TUA) COI Site was interviewed for a program on TBS TV called “Discover the wonders of the world with Hitachi!” (Hitachi Sekai fushigi hakken). During the press interview, our Research Leader Masaaki Miyasako explained the purpose of Clone Cultural Property and introduced the mural painting of the East Great Buddha in Bamiyan the “Sun God rising to the Heavens” which our group was involved in recreating. The footage was then used for the episode which aired on 14 January 2017 titled “The great heritage of humankind: Mesopotamia and the Silk Road”.
Our reproduction of the mural painting was also brought to the filming studio for the guest stars to touch the painting and see its texture in person.
