“JST Fair 2017” was held at the Tokyo Big Sight over two days on 31 August and 1 September. The Tokyo University of the Arts (TUA) exhibited displays related to the “Study of BABEL” exhibition, in the COI program booth.
This huge event attracted around 16,000 visitors over two days. Our exhibition of the 3D “Tower of Babel” which was around four meters in height; a panel explaining the production and research around the highly-detailed copy of the painting (Clone Cultural Property); a film of the “moving painting”; and displays of the activities you can participate in, were particularly popular among the visitors.
In addition to the general public, we had inspection visits by more Diet Members than last year, including Mr Yoshimasa Hayashi, MEXT Minister, and Mr Masaji Matsuyama, Cabinet Minister. There were also many science and technology-related ministry officials from foreign governments; press and businessmen present, all listening attentively to our presentations. This again demonstrated the high level of interest from many different fields in the activities of TUA’s COI Site.
We will continue to create unprecedented levels of inspiration and innovation through “integration of art and scientific technology” with a view to taking our contents abroad.
